I'm starting a new book called Anything Can Happen in High School(and it usually does) by William D. McCants. I'm not sure if i'm going to be able to finish it or not.

Pattyn went home and things were worse. Her dad started beating her, her mom was pregnant with another kid, and her dad was a really bad alcoholic. After an incident where her dad beat her, she realized she could be pregnant. The word got out and everyone knew. Ethan came to save her and as they were on their way, a cop had their lights on behind them. The roads were slick and they just kept going. The next thing that happens is Pattyn wakes up in the hospital. Ethan is dead and so is the baby. Her dad wants her out of the house but she has nowhere to go. She is afraid Kevin, Ethan's dad, will blame his death on her if she goes to live with her aunt. The book ends with Pattyn "plan." She thinks she's going to kill a bunch of people with the gun she has.

Pattyn loves living with her aunt. She meets a boy, Ethan, and falls in love. Without going into detail, that basically sums up what i've read. She's wondering what she is going to do at the end of the summer though. If she stays with her aunt, she'll be really far away from Ethan where he's going to college. If she moves back home she'll be closer but doesn't know about getting to see Ethan.

I have a lot to blog about and not enough time so i'll do it tomorrow.

I started a new book called Burned by Ellen Hopkins. It's about a Mormon girl that has a bad family life. She has quite a few sisters and her father is an alcoholic and beats her mom. She finally begins to rebel and goes totally against her religion. She gets a boyfriend and keeps him a secret until her father catches them. He tells him that he better stay away so he does.

Lila and a few other people were sitting outside for Lila's birthday party when a sherriff pulls up. He gets out and tells them that Clay is in jail. He says he's in jail for kidnapping and assault of Alicia. Everyone gets into cars and leaves except for Gerite and John, they stay there. John ends up leaving and Gertie is home alone. She goes into the house to realize a tree that had been struck by lighting fell on the house and started it on fire. She goes to call 911 but changes her mind when she thinks about the history of the house. She goes upstairs to grab the blanket she had been knitting for Lila's baby and when she comes back down the stairs she sees that the fire had carried through the house and she was stuck. Then the book jumps to a letter Lila wrote to her daughter that had been born and the letter was put in her file. Next it jumps to Toby at Gertie's, John's (John attempted to save Gertie out of the burning house), and Howard's graves. Toby lives with George now and the book ends with them sitting on the porch talking.

Time for another project...

I didn't get to read much, I was a liltle late because I was at the junior high talking to kids about high school.
Lila goes to Fort Robinson with Clay and Tim. While they are eating, Alicia comes to see Clay. Alicia gets mad at Clay and leaves so Clay goes after her. Lila walks around to see things and Tim follows her until Lila yells at him to leave her.

They all go to a rodeo where George sees Tim selling some kind of drug so George takes after him. Lila goes to Royce and Julia's and talks to Julia about them taking her baby. Julia says she has no desire to have a baby. Lila goes home and her and Toby get into an arguement but i'm not real sure what it was about. Toby ends up telling Lila about how she was pregnant when David died but got bullied to give it up.

Lila goes to the library to find newspapers from when Rosemary and David but finds nothing. She goes to the newspaper building and meets a new boy named Owen who looks to be about her age. She looks through newspapers and finds information on Rosemary and David. Lila's mom calls her but Lila doesn't really want to talk to her and ends up hanging up.

George teaches Lila how to drive a stick-shift. They talk about how and why Lila got pregnant. George tells her about how he is going to marry the married woman he likes. Toby and Gertie take Howard, Gertie's husband, to a nursing home.

I didn't get to read a whole lot today because the German class was in here. The only thing I read about was Lila going to visit Julie and Royce's and George.

There is a big ceremony for branding and castrating the cows. Everybody comes together to get the job down. It's a two day thing and lunch is a huge meal. There's enough food to feed an army. Lila gets joked about a lot from all the cowboys. During the day, George takes her to a place where she's out of the way and can watch everything. The second day of branding, the banker shows up because Toby can't afford the land anymore. George comes up with a shotgun and Julia, the lady that leases the land, comes up and tells them to leave. He ends up leaving.

Lila sees her cousin George while she is walking. He takes her with him to talk to a girl that he likes..even though she is married with a kid. They end up arguing and she walks home. Lila goes to the old cemetary and looks at all her old family members' tombstones. Then she goes home and sits on the porch with Toby and talks. Toby can't afford to live at the farm anymore but she doesn't tell Lila.

I've been gone the past 4 days so this is the first time i've gotten to blog.

I haven't gotten very far in the book yet but so far a girl named Lila is pregnant and goes to live with her Aunt Toby. Another lady lives there named Gertie that doesn't like Lila. Toby and Gertie get into an argument about Lila.

I've decided to change books. I've tried reading A Walk To Remember for the past couple days and can't seem to get into it. I'm going to start on The Floor of the Sky by Pamela Carter Joern and see if I have any better luck.

For my last project, the paper, I wasn't sure if you wanted me to incorporate the books or not which is why I didn't. I'm starting a new book today called A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks. I've seen the movie and loved it so I thought i'd try reading the book.

Nikki decideds to steal Emmy. Nobody can find her and she is gone for days. Matt gets a phone call in the middle of the night and it's her. She tells Matt she's sick. He asks her what is around her and realizes where she's at. He goes there to get her and finds that she is drunk and covered in puke. Matt takes her and when he gets to the gate to leave, a truck pulls up and Nikki gets out. Matt gets the guy to leave and sets Emmy down. They talk a bit and then Matt pushes her to the ground. Just as he is about to stomp on her head and kill her, Murdoch pulls up. He takes Matt and Emmy and leaves Nikki there. Nikki is never seen again but people receieve letters from her saying things such as "I love you, I hate you, I miss you, I'm going to kill you..." Callie still lives with Ben and Emmy and Matt live with Aunt Bobbie. Matt is about to leave for college out of state and Callie plans on going to medical school. And that's where the story ends. I liked this book a looot and could never put it down. I now have 2 projects to do because I read too fast and haven't done the last one yet. I'm still working on thinking of something.

Tuesday I had an ortho appointment and yesterday I had a college visit which is why I haven't blogged lately. I've read a ton since the last time I blogged so it may be hard to get all the details. Nikki kept stalking Murdoch and wouldn't leave him alone. She told Matt she was going to tell the cops that Murdoch mollested Matt to try to get him into trouble. Matt made sure Murdoch knew about this. Then Matt heard that Nikki hired some guy to try and beat up Murdoch but the plan backfired so she had the same man beat up her. She then tried saying that Murdoch did it but it didn't work. Nikki didn't give up. Murdoch, Ben (Matt & Callie's father) and Aunt Bobbie all were trying to help the three kids. One night, Nikki was sitting outside Murdoch's house but he wasn't home. Murdoch's neighbor Julie decided to go for a drive. Nikki followed her and they ended up getting in an accident. Julie ended up paralyzed. Nikki got put into jail and Aunt Bobbie and Ben fought for custody of the kids and easily got it. Callie and Emmy moved and lived with Ben and Matt stayed with Aunt Bobbie. Nikki then came home from jail. She started spray painting everything with profanity and doing really bad things.

I started reading The Rules of Survival by Nancy Werlin but i'm already half down. So far it's about a boy and his 2 younger sisters, one that is only 2, living with their crazy mom. She's on drugs and is very unpredictable. She's hurt Matt before. Then Nikki, the mom, meets a man named Murdoch. This changes a lot until he sees her true colors. Matt doesn't know what to do. He's too afraid to say anything to anyone.

Everyone finds out Nate is gone and nobody knows where to find him. Ruby assumes he is just gone...until she pictures a house that he drops stuff off at for his job. She goes there and sure enough finds him. She sees that his face is all bruised and discolored, obviously from his father. Ruby gets him to go home with her. Jamie and Cara call his mom in Arizona and he goes to live with her. His father puts his house up for sale and lives in an apartment with barely a business left. It's then Cara's 18th birthday and she has a get together with her closest friends. For the closing of the book, Cora sits down to write a letter to her mom still in rehab. After not being able to think of what to say, she copies her acceptance letter to the U (the college she got into) and sends her that.

Harriet, Ruby's boss, gets interview about her jewelery stand. After seeing Ruby's key as a necklace, Harriet started making them and eventually everyone had them. After the interview, Ruby went home to find Jamie and Cora sitting by the phone. Cora and Ruby's mom was in rehab after she had been found unconscious in a motel in Tennessee. She was ok though but couldn't have any family contact. I really like this book and am just about done with it...which means yet another project to do.

Ruby works on the day after Thanksgiving and gets to see all the excitement. Then it turns out to be Valentine's Day. Ruby doesn't know what to get Nate though. They were supposed to have a date at 7 and were to meet at the pond. Ruby went there and waited for almost 2 hours and still no Nate. She saw that they were home and ended up going inside. He finally called her and met her out there. He acted like everything was ok and gave her his gift. She wouldn't open it though and said she wanted to know what had happened. He showed her a huge bruise on him and she wanted to help him but he didn't want it. She said to let her help him or to leave...so he left.

Not a whole lot happened in what I read for the day. It's Thanksgiving and Cara has to make dinner for Jamie's family and she is freaking out. Nate has a very busy day also, working with his dad running errands for people.

Cara tells Ruby the truth about her mom. She tells her she always tried to find her and talk to her and that she didn't abandon her. Ruby freaks out about this and skips school and gets drunk. She passes out in the woods and wakes up to find out she's in Nate's car. Nate takes her home to Jamie who is extremely mad. Jamie yells at her until Cara puts her to bed.

I started on the book Lock and Key. The main character Ruby lived with her sister and her mother in a house that was a dump. They were broke and their mother wasn't exactly the greatest mother. Ruby's sister, Cora took over raising Ruby until she moved away to college. They never spoke again. Until one day when officials found out Ruby was living by herself without heat and water. Ruby had to go live her sister and her husband in a huge fancy house. They were practically rich. Ruby had to go to a new school where everyone there was rich and accademically advanced. Her neighbor, Nate, found her the first night trying to climb over their fence to run away...but it didn't happen. From then on, Nate and Ruby were sort of friends.

I tried doing the Wordle thing but it wouldn't work on school's computers so i'll choose something else.

New Book-lock and key

I'm starting a new book called Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen. This is the author of the first book I read so I thought i'd try it out.

Holland lives in an apartment that's a dump that is free to any gays and lesbians. She gets a job at Hott N' Trott that is owned by Cece's uncle. She also gets a job moving things through the gay/lesbian group. Faith brought Holland's mail to school and Holland found a letter from her mom saying she wanted to talk. Holland went there and they talked but go nowhere. Holland's mom wanted her to come home but Cece wasn't welcome so Holland just left. The book ends by Holland filling out an application to a metro college. I liked the book a lot and am going to look for other books by the same author.

Holland's mom finds out about her being with Cece. Her mom just starts hitting her and screaming at her to get out. Holland has 2 minutes to pack her stuff and leave. She ends up going to Cece's house and sleeping on the couch. The next day Cece's mom tells Holland to stay home from school, so she does and talks to her instead.

New book- Keeping you a secret

I finally finished my project. I'm reading Keeping You A Secret by Julie Peters. Holland, the main character is dating Seth. Everything is great for her other than her mom constantly nagging her about college. A new girl comes to school named Cece. Holland has an odd attraction to Cece. She loves seeing her and being around her. Cece is a lesbian. Holland starts avoiding Seth. She goes to a concert with Cece. At the concert she kisses Cece. The next day, Holland breaks up with Seth. The only thing he said was f-you and left.

I'm still working on my project. The library really needs some art supplies.

Update

I'm starting on my project for my last book. I'm doing two seperate columns with things that they loved and hated in the book. I've also started a new book called Keeping You A Secret but I haven't really read enough to know what's going on yet.

Emily decides to charge Owen with rape and everyone knows about it. Annabel is sitting in the library and Emily comes in to talk to her. She knows about Annabel being raped. Annabel doesn't say anything to her but Emily gives her a number for a lady to call about what happened. Then later, she talks to Sophie in the bathroom and Sophie gives her her number. One night while Annabel is lying in bed, she has a total change of heart. The next morning she went to Owen's radio show and talks to him. She tells him everything and they make up. Annabel calls the lady that Emily told her to call and tells her about Will raping her. Then she goes to court. Annabel sees that Owen wasn't there when he promised to be and she became worried. She also noticed the Will had a black eye. Annabel talked to Owen over lunch and he tells her how he punched him and that he's grounded. Will got sentenced to 6 years. Annabel took over Owen's radio show with Rolly and Clarke while Owen is grounded. That's the end of the book.

Annabel sees Emily at the fashion show she goes too and knows that Emily knows what really happened to Annabel. Annabel goes with Owen to a show. Rolly, Owen's friend, shows up. He had met a girl that had punched him and ever since was crazy about her but they had never talked. Rolly saw this girl at the show and Annabel looks to see who it is realizing it's Clarke. Annabel goes over to Clarke to talk to her even though she doesn't want to. She does this so that Annabel can introduce Clarke and Owen.

Whitney is getting better. She starts getting up earlier and has been talking to Annabel a little more. It flashes back to when Sophie, Annabel, and Emily were all friends. They were at a party, Annabel went to get a water and then went to go back to the game of pool Emily and 2 other guys were playing. She got pulled into a room and got raped by Will Cash, Sophies boyfriend. Sophie walked into the room and saw something had happened but Annabel didn't tell her.

Annabel goes to breakfeast with Owen after his radio show. It's a big bacon place. Annabel wears Owen's jacket because it was so cold there and didn't realize she still had it when he had already dropped her off. She found his ipod in the pocket so decided she should return it. After helping Whitney make spaghetti for supper, she went over to Owen's. While there, she ended up helping with Owen's sister Mallory's photo shoot with her friends.

From what I read today, nothing too exciting happens. It was all about the music that Owen listens to and about the show he has on the radio. Annabel meets Owen's mom at the mall when she goes for a modeling job. Annabel's parents leave for two days on vacation and leave Annabel and Whitney home alone.

Up to chapter 9

It flashes back to when Annabel and Sophie are still friends. Annabel brings along Emily, a girl from a photo shoot, along to a party. Sophie doesn't like her though, and Sophie and Annabel have an arguement. Then it goes back to being in the present. Annabel and Owen become friends. They now talk during lunch and have gave each other rides home. Annabel opens up to Owen and tells her things that she hasn't told anyone else...things such as how she doesn't want to model anymore, Whitney's disease, and what happened between Sophie and Annabel.

Through Chapter 4

Sophie and Annabel get into a fight because she thinks Annabel is talking to her boyfriend. After the fight, Annabel runs off and throws up. Owen, a tough looking guy that always has head phones on that Annabel watches shows up to help her. He gives her a ride home and Annabel learns many new things about him.

Through chapter 4..

It finally tells what happened to Whitney that makes her have no friends. When Annabel, Clarke, and Sophie were all friends, Sophie pressured Annabel into going to hang out with some boys and she totally blew off Clarke. Annabel hasn't spoken to Clarke since. Then there was a phone call from a hospital about Whitney. Whitney comes home for Christmas and they see how skinny she is and that she won't eat. They then find her lying in the bathroom and they take her to the hospital.

Through Chapter 2

I read through chapter 2 today and many new things happened. Annabel talks about not wanting to continue modeling but was afraid to quit because her mom could go back into depression. Her mom went into depression after her mom had died and the thing that made her better was taking her daughters to modeling jobs. Whitney and Kirsten moved to New York to do modeling jobs and then they come home for a visit. It's obvious that Whitney has an eating disorder but she denies it.

Chapter 1 & part of 2

So far in the book, Annabel met a new girl that moved into town named Sophie. In the very beginning, it's a flashback from when Sophie followed Annabel's older sister around. One day at the pool, Annabel tries talking to Sophie and Sophie is mean to Annabel. Kirsten sees this and yells at Sophie. Then Annabel and Sophie became friends. After the flashback, it goes to Annabels first day back to school. She has no friends and nobody to talk to. Something happened the spring before but I don't know what it is yet.
